Troubleshooting

The 5 common problems and their fixes.

No sound

  1. Check your audio interface is connected.
  2. Verify the correct input channel is selected in Audio I/O.
  3. Check that an input device (not "None - output only") is actually selected.
  4. Verify volume levels are up in Volume — MASTER, GUITAR, and check MUTE isn't on in the transport bar.

Audio crackling/glitches

  1. Close other audio applications.
  2. Try a lower sample rate (44100 Hz) via Audio MIDI Setup.
  3. Check your audio interface's buffer size settings.

"Sample rate mismatch" warning

This appears when your input and output devices run at different sample rates. Quick fix: the button under RECOMMENDED in the modal sends the output through the same device as the input. Permanent fix: set both devices to the same rate in Audio MIDI Setup. Full details: Sample-rate mismatch.

FX not working

FX requires matching sample rates between input and output. Use the same device for both, or align their rates in Audio MIDI Setup. See Audio setup.

Device not found after reconnection

USB audio devices can get new IDs when reconnected.

  1. Wait a few seconds after connecting.
  2. Go to Audio I/O and reselect your device (or press RESCAN).
